Privacy statement
Last updated: October 2026
Orbis Neo respects the privacy of its clients, contacts and visitors to this website. I handle the personal data you share with me carefully and confidentially, and process it in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This statement explains which data I process, why, for how long, who I share it with and what your rights are.
1. Who I am
Orbis Neo Consulting (also trading as Orbis Neo) is a sole proprietorship owned by Daniel Fokker, based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, and registered in the Commercial Register of the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KvK).
- Website: https://www.orbisneoconsulting.com
- Email: info@orbisneoconsulting.com
- KvK number: 98659456
Orbis Neo is the controller for the processing of your personal data as described in this statement.
2. Which data I process and why
A. Contact form
When you fill in the contact form, I receive your name, email address and your question, and, if you fill them in, your phone number and the topic you tick. The form also contains a hidden field that blocks spam, without a tracking captcha.
- Purpose: to answer your question and, if you wish, to prepare an intro call or a proposal.
- Legal basis: your consent, which you give with the checkbox below the form.
B. Email and services
When you email me or when we work together, I keep the data needed for that, such as your name, company name, email address, phone number and the content of our correspondence. For invoicing I also keep billing details.
- Purpose: to answer your question, issue a proposal and carry out the assignment.
- Legal basis: performance of the contract (or steps taken at your request before entering into one), legitimate interest in being able to respond, and the statutory retention obligation for business records.
C. Visitor statistics
To see which pages are read and to improve the site, I use Umami. Umami does not use cookies, according to its provider stores no personally identifiable information, and anonymises all data. You are not tracked across other websites.
Umami counts, among other things, pages visited, the referring website, browser, operating system, device type and country. I also count a few actions on the site, such as a click on the email link, sending the form (only the language and the chosen topic, not what you type), switching language and a click to an external website.
- Purpose: to improve the website.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest. Because no cookies are used and you cannot be identified, I do not ask for consent for this.
D. Technical data when you visit
As with any website, the hosting provider Netlify processes technical data when you visit, such as your IP address and browser details, to deliver and secure the site. On a first visit to the English homepage, the site checks your browser’s language setting so it can send you straight to the Dutch version if you prefer Dutch. That setting is not stored; only your language choice is remembered in the on_lang cookie (see section 3).
- Purpose: to keep the website secure and working properly.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest.
I do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
3. Cookies
This website sets one functional cookie:
| Name | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
on_lang | Remembers whether you want to see the site in Dutch or English | 1 year |
This functional cookie does not require consent. No analytics, tracking or advertising cookies are set, which is why you do not see a cookie banner.
4. Links to other websites
This site contains links to other websites, such as LinkedIn. No content from other websites, such as videos or posts, is embedded. When you click a link, you leave this site and the privacy policy of that other website applies.
5. Who I share data with
I do not sell your data. I only share it when that is needed to do my work or when the law requires it. These parties process data on my behalf:
- Netlify (Netlify, Inc., United States): website hosting and handling of the contact form.
- Umami (Umami Cloud): cookieless visitor statistics, on servers in the European Union.
- Microsoft (Outlook): email, including the contact form notifications.
- My accountant: for the financial records.
The content of this website is stored at GitHub. No visitor or form data is stored there.
I only work with parties that commit in their terms to protecting your data and treating it confidentially.
6. Transfers outside the European Union
Netlify is a US company. Netlify is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as providing adequate protection for personal data transferred to Netlify. If that certification lapses, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses apply, as agreed in Netlify’s data processing agreement. Microsoft is also certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Umami processes the statistics within the European Union.
7. How long I keep data
I do not keep your data longer than needed for the purpose for which I received it.
- Contact requests and correspondence with potential clients are deleted if no assignment follows and the contact has ended.
- I delete form submissions from Netlify within 30 days. The message itself is then kept in my mailbox in line with the periods above.
- Business records, such as invoices, are kept for 7 years because of the statutory tax retention obligation.
- Visitor statistics in Umami are kept for 6 months.
- The
on_langcookie stays in your browser for 1 year, unless you delete it earlier.
8. Security
I take appropriate measures against misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised changes. The website only works over a secure connection (HTTPS with a valid certificate) and uses additional security settings in the browser. Content management is only accessible through an account with two-factor authentication.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your personal data;
- have incorrect data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- have the processing restricted;
- receive your data in a common file format (portability);
- object to processing based on legitimate interest;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what happened before.
Send your request to info@orbisneoconsulting.com. I will respond within one month. To be sure the request comes from you, I may ask you for additional information.
If you are not happy with how I handle your data, please let me know first. You always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), via autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
10. Transparency on the use of AI
Orbis Neo embraces technological progress. In line with my vision, using technology as an amplifier of human potential, this website was partly created with the help of generative AI.
- Human responsibility: all output has been edited, fact-checked and curated by Daniel Fokker. Final responsibility for the content and its accuracy always lies with Orbis Neo.
- Text and code: AI was used to help write texts, create code and improve the structure of the website.
- Images: some images on this website may have been created with AI.
11. Changes
I may update this privacy statement, for example when the website or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
